| February Legislative Update |
|
Dear Friend, I want to thank everyone who attended the legislative town hall this past Saturday to present ideas on how best to get our state budget back into balance with our newly projected budget shortfall of $881 million. Overflow rooms were needed to seat the estimated 600 people. Because of the number of people who wanted to testify, the hearing lasted almost seven hours. The Interim Finance Committee will have two additional meetings before the special session to discuss the budget shortfall and proposed solutions. On Thursday, February 18 at 9am, the Interim Finance Committee will meet in room 4401 of the Grant Sawyer State Office Building in Las Vegas and the meeting will be videoconferenced to Carson City. On Monday, February 22 at 9am, the Interim Finance Committee will meet in room 4100 of the Legislative Building in Carson City and the meeting will be videoconferenced to the Grant Sawyer State Office Building in Las Vegas. You can watch both meetings online and submit your ideas on how to address our budget shortfall by visiting the legislative website at www.leg.state.nv.us. I hope you will also feel free to contact me at any time at 702-457-9995 or via email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . As you are probably aware, the special session to address our shortfalls is set to begin February 23. I will continue to keep you updated.
Other Events In Our Community Bank of America, as a part of the Alliance for Stabilizing our Communities, is helping coordinate the Home Rescue Fair happening this Saturday, February 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rancho High School.
